Current Refinance Mortgage Rates Hit New Low In 2010: 30 Year Mortgage Refinance Rates at 4.81%

Mortgage refinance rates have hit a new low this year thanks to U.S. Treasury yields declining over concerns regarding the European Union. The euro is declining in value against the dollar as investors flee the euro, buy dollars and U.S. Treasuries. When Treasury prices move higher, yields move lower. Lower Treasury yields drive current mortgage refinance rates lower.

10 year Treasury yields closed the week down at 3.20 percent and 30 year refinance mortgage rates declined to 4.81 percent. Refinance rates are expected to decline further this coming week if concerns about the world economic recovery persist.
