Current Mortgage Rates: 30 Year Mortgage Rates Down to 5.06% and 15 Year Mortgage Rates Down to 4.45%Mortgage rates decreased in the latest Primary Mortgage Market Survey released by Freddie Mac this morning. 30 year mortgage rates decreased to 5.06 percent for the week ending January 14, 2010, down from the previous week's average mortgage rate of 5.09 percent. Mortgage discount points averaged 0.7 points, unchanged from the prior week. 15 year mortgage rates are back under 4.50 percent at 4.45 percent, down from the prior week's average mortgage rate of 4.50 percent. Mortgage discount points were unchanged at 0.6 points. A year ago at this time 15 year mortgage interest rates were averaging 4.65 percent. Adjustable mortgage rates were mixed this week, the average U.S. Treasury Indexed 5 year adjustable rate mortgage was down this week to 4.32 percent with average mortgage discount points of 0.6 points, down from last week's average 5 year home loan rate of 4.44 percent. One year adjustable rate mortgages were up for the week ending January 14, 2010. Current one year mortgage rates are averaging 4.39 percent with an average 0.5 mortgage points, up from the prior week's average one year mortgage interest rate of 4.31 percent.
