Mortgage Rates Today Near Record Lows at Credit Unions and Banks

Mortgage rates today are just above record lows and will hit new record lows in the first couple of months in 2013. Right now the lowest credit union mortgage rates can be found at some of the larger credit unions like Navy Federal and Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Both credit unions are offering 30 year mortgage refinance rates below the average if you're willing to pay points.

Current mortgage rates on 30 year conforming loans are averaging 3.50 percent, down from last week's average 30 year mortgage rate of 3.54 percent. This coming week 30 year rates will fall through 3.50 percent and possibly move as low as 3.40 percent. Some mortgage lenders offering 30 year refinance rates below the average on our rate list include Amerisave offering 30 year refinance rates in Connecticut as low as 3.00 percent with points. Amerisave is also offering 30 year refi rates as low as 3.00 percent with points in other states as well.

Today's mortgage rates on 15 year conventional home loans are averaging 2.84 percent, down from last week's average 15 year mortgage rate of 2.86 percent. Average 15 year mortgage interest rates will fall through 2.80 percent this week and possibly move as low as 2.75 percent.

There are many lenders offering 15 year refinance mortgage rates well below the current average. The lowest rate we have on our rate list for the state of California is at 2.25 percent with points and without points. On our California refinance rates list Aimloan.com is offering 30 year refi rates at 2.25 percent with 1.095 points and American InterBanc mortgage Bankers are offering 15 year rates at 2.25 percent with no points.

Average jumbo mortgage rates today are lower also on both 30 year and 15 year jumbo loans. 30 year jumbo mortgage rates are averaging 4.02 percent, down from last week's average 30 year jumbo mortgage rate of 4.07 percent. Average jumbo mortgage refinance rates have been hovering just above 4.00 percent for a couple of months now.

Rates should fall through 4.00 percent sometime in the first quarter of 2013 though right now you can find lenders already quoting 30 year jumbo refinance rates below 4.00 percent. Right now on our California jumbo refinance rates list we have Home Loan Enterprise quoting 30 year jumbo refi rates at 3.50 percent with 1.625 points and Citi Mortgage quoting 30 year jumbo refi rates at 4.00 percent with zero points.

Mortgage rates currently on 15 year jumbo home loans are averaging 3.46 percent, down from last week's average 15 year jumbo rate of 3.49 percent. Right now on our New Jersey refinance rates list, we have Diamond Funding quoting 15 year jumbo refinancing rates at  3.00 percent with 1 mortgage point and Investors Home Mortgage also quoting 15 year rates at 3.00 percent but with zero points.
