Refinance Mortgage Rates Today August 13, 2012: 30 Year Rates at 3.61 Percent

After making several weeks of new record lows average refinance mortgage rates today moved higher once again. Current mortgage rates on 30 year conventional home loans are averaging 3.61 percent, an increase from an average 30 year mortgage rate of 3.59 percent.

Average mortgage rates and refinance ratesĀ have increased recently but are still incredibly low right now. Just looking back a few years 30 year conforming mortgage rates were over 6 percent. Rates started decreasing back in late 2008 just as the financial crisis hit and the economy fell into the "Great Recession".

Mortgage rates on 15 year conventional home loans increased but are still under 3.00 percent. Mortgage rates today on 15 year loans are at 2.97 percent, down up from an average 15 year mortgage rate of 2.95 percent. Right now on our 15 year refinance rate list there are lenders offering 15 year refi rates as low as 2.38 percent.

Today's mortgage rates on 30 year jumbo loans are averaging 4.22 percent, an increase from an average 30 year jumbo mortgage rate of 4.21 percent. Depending on the state you live in you can find 30 year jumbo refinancing rates as low as 3.75 percent on our jumbo refi rates list.

Current mortgage rates on 15 year jumbo mortgage loans are averaging 3.47 percent, an increase from an average 15 year jumbo interest rate of 3.45 percent. There are 15 year jumbo refinance rates as low as 3.25 percent on our rate tables.

Adjustable mortgage interest rates on 5 year adjustable loans are averaging 2.97 percent, up from an average 5 year adjustable mortgage rate of 2.94 percent. Currently on our rate list there are lenders offering 5 year rates as low as 2.38 percent.

Jumbo adjustable mortgage rates on 5 year loans are averaging 2.83 percent, up from an average of 2.81 percent. Right now on our 5 year jumbo rate list thereĀ are lenders offering rates at 2.50 percent.
