Post Election Refinance Mortgage Rates Move Lower: 15 Year Refinance Rates at 2.83 Percent Today

Average refinance rates declined today, exactly one week after the Election with no progress in sight on resolving the "Fiscal Cliff". Today's refinance rates on 15 year conventional loans are averaging 2.83 percent, down from yesterday's average 15 year refinance rate of 2.85 percent. Average 15 year rates are not much higher from record lows of 2.77 percent set back in September 2012.

You can already find lenders quoting 15 year refinancing rates below the all-time record low. If you live in the state of Florida and are looking to refinance your mortgage we have many lenders offering incredibly low rates. The lowest 15 year refinance rate on our list for Florida is from First Internet Bank at 2.375 percent with 2 mortgage discount points. Other lenders include American Financial Resources at 2.50 percent with no points, Roundpoint Mortgage Company also at 2.50 percent but with 2 points and many other rates listed.

Average 30 year conforming refinance rates are at 3.41 percent, a decline from yesterday's average 30 year refi rate of 3.43 percent. Conforming 30 year rates are also slightly  higher from recent all-time lows and are probably going to make new lows this month. The rates we report on are average rates, you can find many lenders quoting rates well below the averages.

Currently on our 30 year conventional refinance rates list for Texas we have Home Loan Enterprise quoting rates at 2.875 percent with 2 points, Aimloan.com also quoting rates at 2.875 percent but with only 1.502 points, First Internet Bank offering rates at 3.00 percent with 2 points, LenderFi also at 3.00 percent but with 1.25 points. Moving onto 30 year jumbo refinance rates the average rate today is at 4.07 percent, down from yesterday's average jumbo refinance rate of 4.09 percent. On our Colorado refinance rates list for 30 year jumbo loans we have Home Loan Enterprise offering rates at 3.50 with 1.125 points, Mortgage Mint offering rates at 3.50 percent with 1 point and many other lenders quoting different rate/point combinations.

Today's refinance rates on 15 year jumbo loans are averaging 3.41 percent, down from an average 15 year jumbo rate of 3.44 percent set yesterday. Current refinance rates on 15 year jumbo mortgages in California can be found as low as 3.00 percent with no mortgage discount points!
