Maspeth Federal Savings Current Mortgage Rates

We usually write about banks and credit unions advertising the lowest mortgage rates but we came across Maspeth Federal Savings current mortgage rates which are surprisingly well above the national average rates.

In addition to advertising some of the highest mortgage rates, the bank is also requiring a 25% down payment. Except, of course, if you're a first-time home buyer, you might qualify for an FHA mortgage loan.

The bank's current advertised 30 year mortgage rate is 6.00 percent with an annual percentage rate (APR) of 6.008 percent. The current national average 30 year mortgage rate is almost 100 basis points lower at 5.16 percent.

15 year mortgage rates are advertised at 5.50 percent with an APR of 5.51 percent. The 15 year national average mortgage rate is 1.00 percent lower at 4.49 percent.

On the upside, their home equity loans beat the national averages. The bank's current advertised 15 year home equity loan rate is 7.25 percent with an APR of 7.26 percent. The national average rate on 15 year home equity loans is 7.62 percent.
