You can also buy down the 4.75 percent mortgage rate to 4.25 percent by paying an additional 0.375 points or 0.75 points in total. 15 year conforming mortgage rates are at 4.25 percent with 0.75 points. 10 year mortgage rates are also at 4.25 percent with 0.75 points.
